Great coming down last week. Wimbledon Tennis is coming up and I now want to be here listening to my system instead !!! Yes, it's that good.
The interesting part now. My local dealer dropped of a Vertere Calon Phono stage while he installed my Hana Umami Red. He left it with me for a few days so I had time to warm it up. Well, 5 days later he popped down with a big smile on his face, thinking he would be collecting £15K for a Calon. He was so wrong.
The TITAN Pro II was played first. We played all sorts of things but ended up just listening to Black Orpheus - Vince Guaraldi. The dealer that I won't mention really liked the TITAN Pro II. Commented on the soundstage and L/R detail, imaging and evenness of sound, saying it was very musical.
The Vertere Calon was on next and everything died. Not only did it sound mono, but the emotion has disappeared. Instruments were lost somewhere in the speakers. It was not even close. He left me with his tail between his legs, I know that he didn't like what he had witnessed, but it was my money at the end of the day.
