It's been 10 days and I thought I'd check in and leave a small review.
What can I say. My 1st experience with casa whest has been a joy. The 20.DP0 arrived and setup for my cartridge (Audio Technica ART20) which was great because all I want ed to do was to switch on and play.
WOW.. Ok, so it took a few hours to warm up a little but even after 5 mins I could tell that what I was hearing blew away or had was on its way to blowing away my Clear Audio V2 Balance. What is staggering is that the pricing of the 2 units are nearly the same within £500 but the audio quality is completely different.
I think it was day 3 that I could start to hear the gap between the 2 units increase. The 20.DP0 is organic and very musical. The Clear Audio started to sound like plain vanilla "hifi". The 20.DP0 stereo spread is by far so superior to anything I have heard in my system. It plays Steely Dan's older albums with a raw quality that sound just right. I think day 8 was the turning point, the Usain Bolt type acceleration where everything just takes off and falls into place at the same time. I only now know why the ART20 is such a killer MC cartridge.
The ART20 and Clear Audio Balance V2 was good but it did sound a little bit like a better Audio Technica ART9XA. The ART20 with the whest 20.DP0 is tremendous FULL STOP !!
