Thanks for the follow-up email. That has now prompted me to write this short review. I installed it last week and after about 6 hours of warming up I thought I'd give it a spin.. I knew it was still well outside of its 3-5 day warmup period butI couldn't wait. It was worth the tryout !!
Compared to my friends PH-1000 that I have on loan while he's away. The PH-1000 sounds like a toy. He won't be happy. The 40RDT SE has a bigger and wider soundstage, BAGS more detail and vocals sound like I have a new cartridge tip. The clarity is quite amazing. The Goldnote PH-1000 sounds mono and dead in comparison. I won't talk anymore about the PH-1000 because frankly it is nowhere near the abilities of the 40RDT SE.
My Linn Majik/ Ekos II/ Ortofon Windfeld Ti has been transformed into a real vinyl player. I always knew I was missing something but what I have gained is much more than I could have ever imagined. Fantastic results after just a few hours. Can't wait till Sunday.
