So I've just put the whestTWO.2 Discrete into my system having lived with a Gold Note PH-10 for the past year. OK, so with the PH-10 I can adjust the EQ and gain from the front panel but I listened to you about system resolution and I must admit that I didn't really understand what you were on about.
Living with the whestTWO.2 Discrete for the past 20 mins has been a revelation. More than that it has been a complete eye-opener because I'm starting to realise that what I read on the web and magazines I really have to take with a pinch of salt. So what is so different you might ask? Pretty much everything James. The soundstage, music, Blue by Joni Mitchell sounds amazing with yours and pretty ordinary with the PH-10. No matter what setting I choose with the PH-10 I cannot get it to sound 1/2 as good as your Discrete. It is just too different. I now think the standard whestTWO.2 would have done the trick.
